La Gran Nube de Magallanes (abreviada como LMC, del inglés Large Magellanic Cloud) es una galaxia enana, satélite de la Vía Láctea y miembro del Grupo Local. Se encuentra a unos 160.000 años luz de distancia, siendo la tercera galaxia más próxima a la Vía Láctea. Es visible a simple vista como un débil objeto en el hemisferio austral terrestre situado entre las constelaciones de Dorado y Mensa.
Esta foto, sin muchas pretenciones, muestra a la LMC tomada a 50mm de largo focal con la cámara Canon 5D en FF y son 8 fotos de apenas 60 segundos, sin darks ni flats, solo sumadas y procesadas en PixInsight.
The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is a dwarf galaxy, a satellite of the Milky Way and Local Group member. It lies about 160,000 light years away, the third nearest galaxy to the Milky Way. It is visible to the naked eye as a faint object in the Southern Hemisphere land located between the constellations Dorado and Mensa.
This picture, with few pretensions, shows the LMC taken at 50mm focal length with Canon 5D and are 8 photos of just 60 seconds, no darks or flats, just added and processed in PixInsight.
