En junio de 2008 durante una visita al Observatorio Nacional en la Sierra de San Pedro Martir, en Baja California Norte, por una invitación del Instituto de Astronomía de la UNAM, tuve la oportunidad de hacer esta foto, con la camara Canon 20Da sobre tripié, a Iso 200 y 30 segundos de exposición. Se muestra el telescopio de 84 centímetros, con su domo abierto y trabajando sobre los cielos del sur, mostrando una gran parte de la Vía Láctea.
Además de conocer las instalaciones y convivir con los astrónomos a cargo del observatorio, tuvimos la oportunidad de fotografiar un cielo con uno de los mejores "seeing" del mundo.

In June 2008, during a visit to the National Observatory in the Sierra de San Pedro Martir, Baja California Norte, at the invitation of the Institute of Astronomy at UNAM, I had the opportunity to do this photo, with Canon 20Da camera on tripod, at ISO 200 and 30 second exposure. It shows the 84-inch telescope, with its dome open and working on the southern sky, showing much of the Milky Way.
Besides knowing the facilities and live with astronomers in charge of the observatory, we had the opportunity to photograph a sky with one of the best "seeing" the world.
