La Isla Bartolomé es una isla perteneciente al Ecuador, que forma parte de la Islas Galápagos, Se trata de un islote volcánico cerca de la costa este de la isla Santiago. Es una de las mas "jóvenes" islas en el archipiélago de las Galápagos. Esta isla, y Sulivan Bay en la isla de Santiago, llevan el nombre del naturalista y amigo de toda la vida de Charles Darwin, Sir James Sulivan Bartholomew, que era un teniente a bordo del HMS Beagle, quien perteneció a la Marina Británica, Bartolomé es la forma hispanizada del original nombre de este marino Bartholomew quien junto con Darwin hizo muy famosas a las islas.
Esta isla ofrece algunos de los paisajes más bellos del archipiélago. La isla es un volcán extinto y posee una variedad de suelos rojos, naranjas, verdes, negros y brillantes formaciones volcánicas. Bartolomé tiene un cono volcánico que es fácil de escalar y ofrece excelentes vistas de las otras islas.
Tiene dos sitios de visita para turistas. En el primero, se puede nadar y bucear alrededor de la Roca Pináculo, el mundo submarino resulta interesante en la isla, se puede hacer snorkel con los pingüinos, las tortugas marinas, tiburones de punta blanca de arrecife, y otros peces tropicales. La bahía también es un excelente lugar para ir a nadar. Las llamadas bahías gemelas están separadas por un estrecho istmo.

Bartolomé Island (Spanish: Isla Bartolomé) is a volcanic islet in the Galápagos Islands group. It is a volcanic islet just off the east coast of Santiago Island. It is one of the "younger" islands in the Galápagos archipelago. This island, and Sulivan Bay on Santiago island, are named after naturalist and lifelong friend of Charles Darwin, Sir Bartholomew James Sulivan, who was a Lieutenant aboard HMS Beagle.
Bartolomé has a volcanic cone that is easy to climb and provides great views of the other islands. Bartolomé is famous for its Pinnacle Rock, which is the distinctive characteristic of this island, and the most representative landmark of the Galápagos.[citation needed]
It has two visitor sites. At the first one, you may swim and snorkel around Pinnacle Rock; the underwater world there is really impressive. You can snorkel with the penguins, marine turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, and other tropical fish. The bay is also an excellent place to go swimming. The twin bays are separated by a narrow isthmus.
Galápagos penguins are frequently seen, and a small cave behind Pinnacle Rock houses a breeding colony. Seasonally, Bartolomé is the mating and nesting site for the green turtles. With herons, they make use of the gentler beaches. The Galápagos Lava cacti colonize the new lava fields.
